Hopper1 glared at the closed Gate, fuming as obviously as was possible.

Steamliner chuffed alongside, matching its partner's gaze, and sighed.

Before the train Chemy could speak, though, Hopper1 gave voice to its thoughts:

'We could have intervened sooner! We could have talked Spanner through this sooner! And now, he's locked away and babysitting a primordial force of alchemy, to put his demons in their place!'

Hopper1 stamped the ground, and only then did it deflate, resting its head on the ground.

'We weren't watching the Ouroborous Realm. And we should have been,' Steamliner concurred.

'Instead, we were just as vulnerable to the time loop as anyone else.'

Hopper1 twitched its wings, sulking.

'You know him, though, Hopper1 - he'll power through it. Once he's taught something, he doesn't give up on it.'

'... No,' the other Chemy said, at length. 'I guess not. You think he'll make it to the wedding?'

Steamliner honked. 'They won't have it without him!'

Spanner's own partner Chemies would see to that.
